For Enye’s Fall 2024 theme issue Resilient Roots, I photographed Calaveras, a Latino-owned tattoo shop in San Pedro that celebrates heritage through ink. Each image captures the artistry, culture, and resilience that define the shop where every tattoo tells a story of identity, pride, and roots that run deep.

For Enye’s Spring 2025 theme issue True Persona, I photographed our staff using colored LED lighting to highlight each person’s chosen aura. Every color reflected their personality, energy, and unique creative spirit. The result was a vibrant series of portraits that showcased who we are beyond the page, authentic, expressive, and unapologetically ourselves.

For Enye’s Fall 2024 issue Resilient Roots, I photographed our staff during golden hour, using the soft, golden light to highlight each person’s connection to their heritage. Everyone held a fruit that represented their cultural roots, symbolizing the growth, resilience, and generations that came before us. These portraits honor where we come from and the strength that continues to grow within us.
For CSULB’s Black Scholars program, I photographed Cherise Jackson, a Black queer Cinematic Arts major whose story was featured to highlight their journey through identity, community, and creativity. My portraits were used to showcase Cherise’s warmth and authenticity as they shared their experience finding belonging at Long Beach State, from living in Pan-African Scholars Housing to becoming Social Media Director for the Black Student Union. The photos aimed to reflect their vibrant personality and the resilience at the heart of their story.
